HEART
Role: Main Local Project Partner
The Health Africa Resource Team was founded in 2000 to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic in East Africa through health education and medical treatment. HEART is dedicated to empowering Kenyans, through education and resources, to create a healthy, disease free life for themselves and their communities.
HEART also runs the Women’s Empowerment Equality Project, an orphan prevention initiative that enables women with HIV/AIDS. By providing women with employment training, medical care, nutrition counselling, access to ARV drugs and school uniforms for their children, the WEEP project allows HIV+ women to break from impoverishment and to be healthy mothers to their children. The WEEP Sewing Centres will be involved in the manufacture of any soft-product parts of the Bambulance.
CABDA
Role: Pilot Project Participant
The Community Asset Building & Development Action group is a Kakamega based NGO dedicated to improving surrounding communities through Orphans & Vulnerable Children projects and Water Sanitation projects.

Community Transformers
Role: Pilot Project Participant & future manufacturers of the Bambulance

This youth-founded & operated organization is based in Mathare, Nairobi. Wanting to be “part of the solution, not part of the problem”, its members provide home-based care to HIV/AIDS patients in the community and run support groups for the children of those clients. The Community Transformers will be trained to manufacture and distribute the Bambulance as a means of income-generation for the organization.
The Tesia Isanga Organization
TIO is a community-based organization dealing with orphans, vulnerable children and women affected by HIV/AIDS. They also educate clients and groups on locally available foods that are rich in nutrients required by AIDS patients
The Youth Action for Rural Development organization believes that rural communities are endowed with a lot of resources and only need to realize and identify the resources they have and utilize them for socio-economic empowerment. Their goal is to contribute to the improvement of a sustainable quality of life for youth and the community in general.
We are proud to have the support of cinematographer Rolf Cutts, who will be leading the film documentation of the Bambulance project from conception through implementation.
